چکیده
Abstract Background The clinical course of Crohn’s disease (CD) is associated with development complications including strictures and penetrating lesions such as fistulas abscesses. Close monitoring optimizing therapy can prevent these complications. Intestinal ultrasound (IUS) a non-invasive cross-sectional imaging method ideal for frequent assessment activity intra-abdominal In this meta-analysis we provide an updated the diagnostic accuracy IUS its advanced modalities in detection CD compared to endoscopy, MRI/CT, surgery pathology. Methods We conducted literature search Pubmed/MEDLINE EMBASE databases from 01-01-1970 up 17-10-2022 studies describing adult patients related Quality included was assessed QUADAS-2 tool. A univariate random-effects model used calculate test variables, log odds ratio area under pooled ROC (AUC SROC). All data were calculated 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Chi-squared (χ²) assess study heterogeneity p < 0.05 indicating significant heterogeneity. Funnel plots created publication bias. performed using R-package mada. sensitivity specificity Meta-DiSc. Results identified 1506 which 68 systematic review. Twenty-three 3863 overall moderate high risk total 6 meta-analyses performed, both conventional (B-mode) oral contrast (SICUS) diagnosing CD-related Pooled strictures, inflammatory masses by B-mode 3.56 (2,90-4.21), 3.84 (3.28-4.41) 3.97 (3.30-4.64) AUC 0.926, 0.896 0.960 respectively. diagnosis SICUS 4.51 (3.28-5.73), 4.80 (3.46-6.14) 5.46 (3.61-7.30) 0.955, 0.982 0.985, Significant seen between reporting on IUS. Conclusion These results indicate that accurate tool CD. non-invasive, point-of-care modality recommended first-line if there suspicion

Soluble Adiponectin is a New Predictor for Cardiovascular Complications in Patients with End Stage Renal Disease
Mortality due to cardiovascular complications (CVC) in patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) is 20 fold higher than in general population. Adiponectin (ADPN) hormone from adipose tissues accumulation in serum is attributed to reduced renal clearance. The aim of this study was to investigate the possible role of ADPN as a predictor of CVC in adult patients with ESRD on hemodialysis (HD), ...
متن کاملThe Utility of Ultrasound and Laboratory Data for Predicting Intra-abdominal Injury among Children with Blunt Abdominal Trauma
Background: Children with blunt abdominal trauma (BAT) can be risk stratified for intra-abdominal injury (IAI) through a combination of readily accessible clinical variables. The aim of this study was to identify ultrasound and laboratory studies that accurately identify IAI while limiting unnecessary CT-scan among children without injury. Materials and Methods We conducted a prospective, obse...

Background: Since the treatment of meconium ileus is very different from other types of intestinal obstruction, it is very important to distinguish these two entities. The aim of this study was to assess sonographic findings to differentiate meconium ileus from other types of obstruction. Methods: This study was performed in Dr. Sheikh and Akbar hospitals, Mashhad Medical University of Science...
